Finding effective natural remedies that work can sometimes be difficult when using supplements and homeopathics. Essential oils are quite effective for seasonal winter illnesses and work quickly and easily for all family members.
When people send me testimonials like this, it’s hard to argue that anything else works better:
Sadly, I am no longer allowed to post these testimonials due to the new FDA regulations. I am truly sorry about this, but there is not much I can do about it. You will just have to use the oils mentioned here and experience your own testimonials.
As a disclaimer – I am not a doctor. This blog post is for informational purposes only and is not designed to treat, diagnose, or cure any illness. The wonderful part about using essential oils is that it empowers YOU to make health decisions for yourself and your family. Do your research and ask God to guide you on which oils to use for your family.
Essential Oils to use for Seasonal Illnesses:
Thieves oil blend – this is a blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. It’s properties include antibacterial, anti-infectious, antiviral, and antiseptic. We rub this on the bottom of our feet, diffuse in the air, drink a drop in a cup of almond milk, or ingest in a capsule several times a day. Children under 2 need to have this oil diluted with olive oil, coconut oil, or V-6 from Young Living. We also apply on our throats if we have a scratchy throat (may need to dilute if skin is sensitive).
Lemon oil – properties include antitumoral, antiseptic, and immune stimulant. We apply to feet, around ears, or on our chests to help our bodies fight off illnesses better.
RC oil blend – includes Eucalyptus Globulus, Eucalyptus Radiata, Eucalyptus Citriodora, Myrtle, Pine, Spruce, Marjoram, Lavender, Cypress, and Peppermint. “Gives relief from colds, bronchitis, sore throats, sinusitis, coughs, and respiratory congestion. It decongests sinus passages, combats lung infections, and relieves allergy symptoms.” We apply to feet, chest or neck and throat area when we have any of the above symptoms. This is also a great oil to put in a diffuser to help the whole family feel less congested.
ImmuPower oil blend – includes Cistus, Frankincense, Oregano, Idaho Tansy, Cumin, Clove, Hyssop, Ravintsara, and Mountain Savory. “This blend strengthens immunity and DNA repair in the cells. It is strongly antiseptic and anti-infectious.” We like to use this at first sign of illness or if someone else is ill and we don’t want to get what they have. As with all Young Living oils, this blend can be diffused, inhaled directly, or applied to the skin (suggestions include navel, chest, temples, wrists, or feet).
Peppermint oil is great for respiratory issues, viral issues, digestive issues, minor aches and pains, and nausea. We use it for any type of pain and on feet or chest to help reduce fevers. We like to inhale it to help clear our sinuses. I apply it directly under the bones under my eyes and on my forehead to help with colds and sinus infections (always being careful not to get it in my eyes).
Lavender oil – Often called “first aid kit in a bottle.” This is a great oil to have on hand for sinus issues, respiratory issues and any type of skin issues. Its properties include antiseptic, antifungal, analgesic, antitumoral, anticonvulsant, relaxant, and anti-infammatory. This is my husband’s favorite go-to oil when he feels sinus issues coming on. Most of the time the sinus issues never develop into anything if he applies this oil under the bones under his eyes and on his forehead several times a day.
So far this year we have avoided any sinus issues or scratchy throat. We love our Young Living oils and wouldn’t use anything else. I’m serious about this! Do NOT just purchase any essential oils! Young Living is the industry leader and has been distilling therapeutic grade essential oils for 20 years. Do NOT put any other brand on your family!
I was able to throw away many expired over the counter medications in the last month and I am confident that I won’t need to purchase anymore as long as we have these oils. I encourage you to use Young Living oils and empower yourself to overcome illnesses quickly, spend less time (or no time) off work for being sick, and find ways to use these oils in even more ways than I have mentioned here.
